Meal Theory is a small weekly meal-prep operation based out of Delray Beach, Florida. We deliver five chef-crafted meals a week to homes and offices around Delray Beach. To do that, we need a little bit of information from you. This page explains exactly what we collect, how we use it, and how we keep it safe.

If something here isn’t clear or you want a copy of what we have on file for you, call or text us at 561-698-5784.

1. Who we are

“Meal Theory,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the Meal Theory food-delivery business operating out of Delray Beach, Florida. By placing an order with us, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. What we collect

When you place an order, we collect only what we need to prepare your food and get it to your door:

  • Your name - so we can label your order and address you correctly.
  • Phone number - for order confirmation, delivery coordination, and reaching you with menu updates.
  • Email address (if you give it to us) - for written confirmations and menus.
  • Delivery address - to bring your meals to the right place.
  • Your order history - which meals you’ve picked, when, and any notes (e.g. allergies, preferences, gate codes).
  • Allergens and dietary notes - only what you choose to share so we can flag ingredients to avoid.

We do not collect or store payment-card numbers ourselves. We do not use ad-tracking pixels or sell your information.

Analytics: This website uses Plausible Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. Plausible is a privacy-focused service that does not use cookies, does not collect personal information, and does not track visitors across other websites. It reports only anonymous, aggregate data such as page views and referral sources.

3. Health-related information

Our intake form includes an optional field for medical conditions, allergies, and dietary restrictions so that meals can be prepared safely for you. You provide this information voluntarily. It is used solely to prepare and deliver your meals safely, is stored securely with restricted access, and is retained only as long as needed for that purpose. You may request its correction or deletion at any time by contacting us.

4. How we use your information

We use the information above only for the following:

  • Taking, confirming, and fulfilling your weekly meal order.
  • Coordinating delivery and reaching you about delivery-day timing or issues.
  • Remembering your preferences (favorite meals, allergens, address) so you don’t have to repeat yourself.
  • Sending you the upcoming menu and order window reminders, if you ask us to.
  • Basic bookkeeping required to run the business.

5. What we do not do

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not share your information with advertisers, data brokers, or marketing networks. We do not contact you about anything unrelated to your Meal Theory orders.

6. Who sees your information

Inside Meal Theory, only the people preparing and delivering your food see your information - and only the parts they need (e.g. a delivery driver sees address and phone; the kitchen sees meals and allergens).

If we ever use a delivery partner, payment processor, or scheduling tool, those services see only the minimum needed to do their job. They are not allowed to use your data for their own marketing.

We will share information when legally required (subpoena, court order, or similar) or when necessary to protect the safety of our customers, staff, or the public.

7. How long we keep it

We keep your information as long as you’re an active customer and for a reasonable period afterward for bookkeeping, food-safety, and customer-service reasons. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see Section 9).

8. How we protect it

Customer information is kept on secured systems with access limited to people who need it to run the business. We use industry-standard precautions, but no system is 100% secure. If a breach affects you, we will notify you as required by law.

9. Your choices

You can:

  • Ask for a copy of the information we have on file for you.
  • Correct anything that is wrong.
  • Ask us to stop messaging you with menus or reminders.
  • Ask us to delete your information (subject to legal recordkeeping needs).

To make any of these requests, call or text 561-698-5784. We’ll respond within a reasonable time, usually inside 30 days.

10. Children

Meal Theory is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, the “Last updated” date at the top will change. Material changes will be communicated to active customers when reasonably possible.
